~brat vs. slave - vanilla slide~

Pouting may seem cute in the Chat Rooms, but in real time it is nothing more than a bad behavior that will not be allowed. Bratty submissives are a fixture online because there is no way to discliplne role players.

Think for a minute what you are really doing if you were able to just pout and get your way? Deep in your belly you have the burning need to serve, to give of yourself for the pleasure of your Master.

If you are able to make your Master do as you want using pouts and sighs and small body movements to indicate your displeasure then it is the slave who controls, not the so-called Master who allows such behavior to go uncorrected.

Is the slave happy when she is able to get her way by manipulating her Master?

A brat is happy because she is not a submissive but one who's pleasure comes from the frustration a Master feels in the continual grinding effort to enforce correct behavior. A brat's happiness comes not from service, but from the tension of the constant struggle.

The slave who gets her way may feel a momentary boost when the Master gives in. But over time she will become progressivly more unruly and prone to outbursts that credit neither her or her Master.

Why does this happen? At her very core the slave craves the control a strong Master offers her, and if he is unwilling or unable to give her that control then she begins to stray in an attempt to force the Master to assert the control she needs. The difference between this behavior and that of a "brat" is that at her core a slave wants to behave and the brat thrives on chaos.

All too often, the Master fails in his responsibility to maintain control over his slave due to laziness. It's just too hard to assert himself when he would rather sit in his recliner and watch a ball game. This kind of abdication of responsibiliry is so common in the mundane world that I think of it as a case of "Vanilla Slide." A D/s relationship that has not been given the hard work it requires, and falls apart because of that lack.
